Oneplus 8 Detailed Specifications and Verdict

Oneplus is going to launch its new smartphone with the Oneplus 8 series. The new smartphones of the OnePlus 8 series are scheduled to be launched at 8 pm today. In this article, we are going to give you a detailed description of the new OnePlus devices. The specifications are specific and all the credit goes to the leaks provided by Mukul Sharma. The New OnePlus 8 Series is one of the most anticipated series and there is no doubt that the premium brand has earned a lot of loyal fans over the years. So, let’s see what OnePlus 8 is going to provide us.

Display

The smartphone has a 6.5 inches Fluid AMOLED display coming with a resolution of 1080 X 2400 pixels. It has a 90 Hertz refresh rate and supports HDR 10+. It is protected by a 3D Corning Gorilla Glass that we see on earlier Oneplus devices. Apart from that, it is a single punch-hole display, the corners are rounded and give you a premium feel. No doubt display Oneplus 8 is going to be one of the best displays.

Design

Design-wise, from back it is similar to OnePlus 7T Pro with the vertical triple camera setup. Also, we get to see a matt finishing glass back protected by a 3D Gorilla Glass protection. It is very agile and slim & weighs only 180 grams. It is going to come in three color variants which black, green and glow.

OnePlus 8 powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset which is an octa-core processor with a clock speed up to 2.96 GHz fabricated on 7nm. The chipset is coupled with an Adreno 650 GPU. Snapdragon 865 is a flagship chipset and certainly, it will give you a powerful experience. The smartphone has an 8/12 LPDDR4x RAM and 128/ 256 GB UFS 3.0 storage. With the 90 Hertz display, the gaming experience in the smartphone is going to be more persuasive. For gamers, the smartphone could be the ideal choice. Not like other emblematic gaming smartphones, it is lighter and besides it delivers ace performance. To provide 5G network connectivity, we have an X55 modem.

Software

From a software standpoint, it is an only Android smartphone manufacturer that delivers a UX environment equal to Apple. OnePlus 8 is running on Android 10 based on Oxygen OS 10.

Camera

The smartphone spots a triple rear camera setup. It has a 48 Megapixel Sony IMX 586 primary rear sensor of aperture f/1.75. The primary sensor is stabilized by Optical Image Stabilization and Electronic Image Stabilization. The secondary sensor is a macro lens of 2 Megapixel of 1.75-micron pixel size. The third one is a 16 Megapixel wide-angle lens that gives the 116-degree field of view of aperture f/2.2.

For selfie, we have a 16 Megapixel selfie camera of aperture f/2.4. The pixel size is 1 micron with support of Electronic Image Stabilization. For camera supports 1080p video recording and time-lapse.

Battery & Other Features

OnePlus 8 comes with a 4300 mAh massive battery. Amid Embellishment of Oxygen OS, it can easily give you a battery life of one day. Apart from that, we have a 30W Warp 30T charging support. We do not have any wireless charging support. It has a dual slim slot. We get to spot an In-display fingerprint scanner and visualize all the major sensors. For better WiFi connectivity we have WiFi 6 and GPS Dual-band.

Verdict

No doubt, OnePlus 8 is overpriced. If we compare it to the OnePlus 7T, then there is not a big upgrade. The camera department seems to be downgraded. So, one thing is clear that OnePlus 7T is a far better option than Oneplus 8. As 5G in India is not going to be installed properly before 2022, so you do not need to worry about it either. Performance-wise there is no major difference between the SD 855+ and SD 865 in daily use.
