After the successful odyssey of Poco F1, the flocks are waiting for the next version of the Poco series. In the new year, after separation from Xiaomi, Poco has released its first smartphone which is a rebrand version of the Chineses variant of Redmi K30 named Poco X2. But as it has come under the name of Poco, therefore it is going to be destructive and the pricing would be disrupted. So, let’s check out the new Poco X2 specification and can it sustain the image of Poco.
Display & Design
It comes with a 6.67 inches Full HD+ IPS LCD. It is a 120 Hertz display of 500 nits brightness with support of HDR10. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and is a dual punch hole panel. The display quality of the smartphone is fantastic, it is giving 120 Hertz refresh rates under 15k hood, which itself a big thing. Apart from that, the dual punch hole panel gives you a new choice in design too.
Design-wise, it has a glass panel protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with polycarbonate aluminum frames. The smartphone weighs around 207 grams which are quite heavy. The smartphone has hybrid dual sim options and comes with a P2i rating which makes it splash-proof.
Poco X2 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset. It is an upgraded version of SD730 for dedicated for gaming. It is an octa-core chipset built on 10nm technology having clock speed up to 2.3 GHz. For gaming, it is coupled with Adreno 618 GPU. The smartphone is running on MiUi 11 based on Android 10. Yes, we do get any dedicated Poco UI which can be the gain for the phone. As it has liquid cooling technology we can see some less heat while playing games. Performance-wise, it is a powerful smartphone for both gaming and day to day life usage. It comes with the based variant of 6/64 GB which goes to 8/256 GB. The smartphone has UFS2.1 storage options for all variants.
the smartphone comes with the quad rear camera setup. The primary one is a 64 Megapixel sensor of aperture f/1.9. The primary one is a new Sony IMX 686 sensor which provides a better image and sharpness in comparison to the Samsung GW1 sensor that we see in Realme X2. The secondary one is 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens of aperture f/2.2 that provides a 120-degree field of view. The third one is a 2 Megapixel macro lens of aperture f/2.4 up to 2cm. The last one is a 2 Megapixel depth sensor of aperture f/2/4. It can shot video up to 4k resolution @60fps and slow-motion at 960 fps. We also get gyro-EIS for the stabilization.
We have a dual front camera setup. The primary one is 20 Megpaixle of f/2.2 aperture. The second one is a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. In terms of camera performance, the primary one provides better output than the Samsung GW1 sensor. Also, we get to see many camera modes that enhance camera performance. The depth sensor for selfie enhances edge detection.
Battery & Other Features
Poco X2 has a 4500 mAh non-removable battery that comes with a 27 Watt fast charger. In other words, it can give you battery backup for more than 1 day easily if you are using a 60 Hz setting, at 120 Hz the battery performance is slightly decreased. Apart from that, it has all the major sensors including the fingerprint sensors mounted at the side panel. It works accurately and is fast.
Price & Variant
Poco is going to be the tough competitor for Realme. The new Poco X2 is launched at disrupting the price point. Most importantly it is giving powerful and exceeding specifications than Realme X2. So, it is going to be the best option for in general usage audience. The new Sony sensor gives you a better 64 Megapixel output.
