Samsung M30s Detailed Review: Overhype Device

Samsung has brought its new smartphone to India. It seems that Samsung is trying to give a tough competition to Realme and Xiaomi. Its new release is the up-gradation of the Samsung M30. The new M30s is a mid-range smartphone that comes with the highlighting feature of a large 6000 mAh battery and Samsung itself claims to be a monster. It is a great Smartphone but in reality, it is a hoax. Why? Please check this article.

Display & Design

The new Galaxy M30s  flaunts a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that gets a waterdrop screen and an amazing aspect ratio of more than 91%. It has a Full HD+ resolution and a 403 PPI pixel density. The display is protected by Dragon Trail Glass. The display is one of the best in this price range and you can expect this from Samsung phone. Coming to the design, as it has 6000 mAh battery, Samsung has well managed the weight of the device. But the build quality of a device is not good.

New M30s is powered by an Exynos 9611 processor which is an octa-core chipset built on a 10nm architecture having clock speed up to 2.3 GHz. The chipset is coupled with a Mali G72 MP3 GPU. It is running on One UI powered with Android Pie. Now coming to the performance, it can run PUBG on HDR setting but wait, the actual gaming performance was very laggy even in HD setting. Samsung claims it is comparable to the SD 835 chipset but in reality, its comparability is equal to the SD 660. In practical use the smartphone is good but at this price range, we don’t like the performance.

The Samsung Galaxy M30s has a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 48 Megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture lens, an 8 Megapixel wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens, and a 5 Megapixel depth sensor. The primary camera takes 12 Megapixel shots by default, but you can capture 48 Megapixel shots though the toggle is clubbed with the aspect ratio options. The camera app on the Galaxy M30s is very similar to what we have seen on recent Galaxy M-series and A-series smartphones. The smartphone camera quality is good. The dynamic range is one of the best in this price range. Photos look natural and edge detection was also good. The front camera has a 16MP lens that captures crystal clear selfie pictures.

Battery & Other Features

The smartphone has a Li-Polymer battery with a huge capacity of 6,000mAh capacity that can last for more than a day with moderate use. It also has a Fast Charging technology, which can refill the battery in a very short time. It has 29 hrs video playback and 49 hrs of voice calls and 131 hrs of music playback. The smartphone has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and has a face unlock feature too. But both the security features are not as fast as compare to other devices.

Price & Variant

  • 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage for 13,999 ₹

  • 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage for 16,999 ₹

See if you are a moderate user and wanted a big battery life with great visuals then you can go for it. But the smartphone is not that good as its showcases. We have many other smartphone options like Realme 5 Pro, Realme XT, Vivo Z1x and Vivo Z1 Pro. I am not against Samsung, they try to give a great device but the competition at this price range is very high and I don’t think it will be a great choice.
