OnePlus 7T Detailed Review and Specification: Perfect Flagship?

Oneplus has launched its new smartphone in India. The new Oneplus 7T is revealed by a Oneplus yesterday at launch event along with Oneplus TV which we will review later. OnePlus 7T is one of the most awaited smartphones. This time we have Asus Rog Phone 2 which is giving tough competition to Oneplus and with the new launch of Oneplus we are hoping that Oneplus will react back with an amazing smartphone. Oneplus 7t is an amazing device and it looks that it is ready to give tough competition to new Rog 2.

Display & Design

It has a 6.5 inches Fluid AMOLED display of Full HD resolution with a 90 Hz refresh rate. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The display quality is really very good and with 1000 nits brightness we get a great viewing experience in outdoor conditions too. In terms of display, Oneplus never compromise, they have one of the best display and viewing experience. The 90 Hz refresh rate is intensified with optimization of Oxygen OS and offer you the smoothness experience. With HDR 10+ and Widevine L1 support, it gives you the perplexing experience while streaming OTT platforms like Netflix and Prime.

The new matte glass design looks very nice and stunning. One thing that I don’t like in OnePlus 7T and it is in every OnePlus smartphone is its camera bump. It looks very strange and makes it more likely to scratch. But overall it gives you a premium look and feels.

This smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ which is an overclocked version of the SD 855. It is built on 7nm architecture and has a clock speed of up to 2.9 GHz. It is paired with the Adreno 610 GPU that provides powerful gaming performance. Also, on the Antutu benchmark score, the Oneplus 7t crosses 4 lakhs, making very few smart crosses. The smartphone has Oxygen OS 10 based on Android 10. Yes, Android 10 came out of the box and that is something that makes Oneplus different from others. They provide updates regularly comparing other companies.

So, in terms of performance no doubt it is one of the fastest Android devices and with Oxygen OS 10 it enhances its capability. The USB 3.0 increase the smartphone speed and added much faster bootup time.

Oneplus 7t

It comes with the triple rear camera setup. It has a 48 Megapixel primary sensor of aperture f/1.6. It also has Quad Bayer technology which gives you the 1.6-micron pixel size with 12 Megapixel output. The secondary sensor is a 12 Megapixel telephoto lens of aperture f/2.2 which provides 2X optical zoom. The third one is a 16 Megapixel wide-angle lens of aperture f/2.2 that delivers a 117-degree field of view.  For a nigh shot, we have dedicated nightscape mode that yields great nightscape pictures. We get the support of OIS+EIS for better stabilization in video. It can shoot 4k video @ 60/30 fps while slow-motion video up to 480 fps @ 720 resolution. The front camera has a 16 Megapixel sensor of aperture f/2.0 with support of EIS.

Oneplus has really worked on the camera department it really improved it and gives the best camera phone at this price range. They also added wide-angle mode in the video which we want from them. The camera output looks natural and gives haptic feedback.

Battery & Other Features

It comes with a 3800 mAh battery with support of Warp Charge 30T that charges your device to 70% in just 30 minutes. We have a Type-C charging port but sadly it doesn’t have 3.5 mm jack. Oneplus 7t has an in-display fingerprint scanner which is very fast and accurate. It has all the major sensor.

Price & Variant

  • 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage for 37,999 ₹

  • 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage for 39,999 ₹

Oneplus 7t is competing with Asus Rog Phone 2 which is one of the big competitors for Oneplus and makes competition really tough. But Oneplus has maintained its legacy and Oneplus 7T is a great device with a powerpack feature. Asus Rog Phone 2 does not have a good camera but Oneplus covers this part also. Overall if we see both devices than I would go with Oneplus 7T.
