Samsung Galaxy A80 : First Rotating Triple Camera

Samsung has launched its new mid-flagship smartphone in the name of Samsung Galaxy A80 in India. It is the seventh smartphone in the popular Galaxy A lineup in 2019. Galaxy A80 offers compelling innovations with the world’s first rotating triple camera packed with 48MP and a level of performance that is simply unmatched by any smartphone camera so far. Galaxy A80 brings exceptional efficiency and revolutionary power to Galaxy A-line. It comes with some exciting selfie modes in the camera app, the three cameras automatically pop-up from the back of the phone and rotate which looks really interesting.  Galaxy A80 is capable of shooting Ultra Wide videos with Super Steady Mode and has a 3D Depth camera offering Live Focus videos. It also has Samsung’s first New Infinity Display featuring the 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen. So let’s check what Samsung brings to us.

Display & Design

Galaxy A80 flaunts a 6.70 inch SUPER AMOLED new infinity display is near bezel-less with no distractions and with 16m colors, offering a big and bright canvas to explore content, stories, connection, and creativity. We get a Full HD+ resolution. It is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It gives us a premium looks and has a stylish aspect ratio 0f 20:9. It delivers a good viewing experience. With the rotating module, we can experience the uninhibited view.


The Samsung Galaxy A80 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset that features 2 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and 6 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. The chipset is built on an 8nm of technology. It comes with an 8GB of RAM. It runs on One UI based on Android 9.0 Pie and packs 128 GB of inbuilt storage. It is based on a 64bit architecture and has Adreno 618 GPU which gives a real-time gaming experience. OneUI by Samsung is one of the fastest and clean UI to experience.



The Galaxy A80 comes with the World’s First Rotating Triple Camera and you can compare the quality of pictures click by front camera or rear camera. On the rear camera, it packs a 48 Megapixel primary rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a secondary has 8 Megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera setup has autofocus. It has a 3D depth camera that gives you a real picture forever. The Galaxy a80 camera is built for life not just for selfies. It has a physical aperture of F2.0. Galaxy A80 has a supper image resolution of 8000 x 6000 pixels. It has an iso control setting with digital zoom, auto flash, touch to focus, face detection inhibit features are in it.

Battery & Other Features

The smartphone has a 3700mah non-removable has a Li-polymer type battery. To stay live in an always-connected world, you need a big battery. Also, we get 25w super-fast charging with USB c-type port. The Samsung Galaxy A80 is a dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy A80 include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India) with active 4G on both SIM cards. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. The Samsung Galaxy A80 supports face unlock. It is very light in weight its only 220 gm.


Samsung Galaxy A80 is a great smartphone with exciting features. We all knew it will be the first rotating triple rear camera. But everything depends on pricing and the smartphone cannot justify its pricing at all. It could be a great smartphone if it is launch near 25-30k but for 48k the smartphone is just a waste. In this range, we can get Oneplus  7 Pro or the smartphone from Samsung itself that is Samsung S10e. So, in our opinion please don’t go for the device. It is just an overpriced smartphone with eye-catching features.
