Redmi has launched its new series in India with the K20 and K20 Pro. K series has been introduced by Xiaomi in place of the Poco F1 series. Poco F1 is one of the competing smartphones which was very much discussed in the market. F1 became the new flagship king by giving tough competition to smartphones like OnePlus 6. Now excitement and expectation with K series have been increased. In this blog we are going to discuss the Redmi K20 which is the mid-flagship smartphone tends to compete directly with Realme X.

Display & Design

Redmi K20 comes with a 6.3 inches Horizon AMOLED display having Full HD+ resolution. The smartphone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass on both back and front. In terms of design, Redmi has actually performed exceptionally well this time, while Redmi is not good in the design but this time it amazes us. We get to see a glass body that gives it a premium look. The new 3D Aura design looks genuinely graceful and gives it the flagship feel. With the pop-up module, we can experience notchless experience and it also provides a 91.9% screen to body ratio.

Performance

The K20 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset which is manufactured on 8nm of technology. The chipset is based on Kyro 470 CPU having clock speed up to 2.2 GHz. The new Adreno 618 GPU powers the graphic power of the phone and gives you the strapping performance. The new SD 730 is a very powerful chipset compare to its competition. Gaming performance in this smartphone will be seamless without any lag. The smartphone is running on MiUI 10 based on the Android pie.

Camera

The smartphone comes with the triple rear camera setup. The primary rear camera features 48 Megapixels Sony IMX 582 sensor of aperture f/1.7. The secondary rear camera is a telephoto lens of 8 Megapixel sensor of aperture f/2.4 and provides 2X optical zoom. The tertiary rear camera is a wide-angle lens of 13 Megapixel sensor of aperture f/2.4 and provides the 125-degree field of view. The camera department is one of the strong points of the K series. The smartphone gives more features than its competitor.

Now many people have doubts about the 48 MP sensor. The only difference is Sony 582 can shoot 4k video up to 30 fps while Sony 586 can shoot at 60 fps. In terms of photography both the sensor convey the same pictures. The smartphone can also shoot HD super steady slow-motion video @ 960 fps. Now coming to the front camera, the smartphone features 20 Megapixel selfie sensor of aperture f/2.2. The front camera can shoot video up to 1080p @ 30 fps.

Now, despite being a great device, it looks more expensive. Yes, the smartphone has some great features but the legacy that Xiaomi has and the picture they created by launching Poco F1, after that its price is not justified. Also the storage we get in the base variant is 64 GB instead of it we do not get any option to expand the storage. So, if you have a limited budget than Realme X is the great option but if you are willing to buy Redmi K20 than you can go for it as it is a great device.
